Installation
Tiling these floors is quite different to tiling a normal floor. The tiler needs to have a good head
for maths and problem solving as well as a keen eye for detail on a small scale, the average hall
can easily have 3000 tiles some as small as a coin. The floors nearly always require levelling first
as the surface needs to be very flat and smooth. The tiles require sealing prior to and after
fitting. We do not install as a company, however we work closely with several superb tilers who lay
these floors for our customers all the time, they fully understand the product and how to lay these
floors correctly. If you have your own fitter we can supply the order based on his requirements and
measurements.
If a tiler we recommend is quoting for the labour we work with them to
price your order accurately based on their site survey and feedback. We can include the price for
all the necessary materials as well as the tiles when we do this. We often draw out sections of the
floor to scale to enable us to plan out the individual components for the main pattern, border and
fill, meaning we can provide most of the order pre-made - almost like a kit. This means that
triangles around the edges of the pattern that would normally have to be cut from squares diagonally
will be provided factory made making the job much neater and easier for the person tiling. The
tilers who we work with will travel anywhere but if you live a large distance away they will need to
account for fuel and possibly accommodations costs.
To calculate your own rough quote in
terms of cost of materials based on a specific design, please feel free to use our Quick Quote form
